About me

I'm a Ph.D. Candidate in the Learning, Design, and Technology Program at Penn State University. Drawing on sociocultural theories and equity-oriented learning designs, I'm interested in exploring alternative learning approaches to reduce economic inequality and poverty. In my research, I'm studying the relationship between financialization, financial literacy, and financial inclusion and developing a sociocritical approach to financial literacy.

Before coming to Penn State, I accumulated more than 13 years of experience as a professor of finance in Colombian universities. I earned a B.S. in Business Management from Javeriana University in Bogotá, Colombia, a Specialization Degree in Financial Analysis, and a Master in Business Administration from Belgrano University in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

I'm also the founder and past president of the Colombian Graduate Student Community, a recognized student organization at Penn State.
